ToggleWHY COURAGE
In these challenging times of global instability and social uncertainty, fear has become contagious.
It’s what fear is doing to us as individuals and collectively that we need to start talking about and healing.
Fear undermines health and wellbeing.
Chronic (persistent) fear leads to anxiety and depression and hopelessness and despair.
Fear divides and conquers.
Fear controls and disempowers.
So what can we all do to address fear?
What can we reflect on, talk about with family and friends, and influence?
Healing anything is a journey.
We can begin healing fear by facing our fears, drawing on the wisdom of the past, and sharing our insights, ideas, and solutions.
COURAGE IS ENERGY
When times are tough its really important to unite together and defy fear, to dig deep and tap into courage.
Courage is a powerful antidote we can use to neutralise fear and anxiety.
Courage fuels inner strength, determination, perseverance, and resilience.
And we can all access courage.
Courage is a heart centred energy that allows us not to be controlled by fear or fear mongering.
Courage empowers us to act mindfully with constructive intention, despite fear.
With courage, we can move from reactive states into mindful, proactive action that builds solutions and fosters mutual betterment.
Mahatma Gandhi is a perfect example of someone who embodied courage.
Gandhi was the father of non-violent civil resistance, which he saw as a commitment to truth and non-injury in all situations.
He mobilised his fellow citizens to confront injustice through the power of non-violence and his country eventually gained independence.
Gandhi taught us that courage doesn’t mean you fight against threats, rather you embrace peace and embody moral values.
Instead of fighting against something – you stand for what you value.

THE POWER OF VALUES
To shift into a state of courage we need to get clear about our values.
To find clarity, go within, and in your deepest innermost self ask yourself, what is really important to me?
What are your truest, innermost feelings and beliefs?
What ‘good’ do you value the most in life?
What morals are important to you?
What values energise your very being?
Is peace important to you, truth, integrity honesty, fairness, authenticity, love, compassion, kindness, respect, joy, gratitude, generosity, acceptance, safety, stability, security, freedom, family, friendship, community, connection, health, happiness, wisdom, knowledge, learning, responsibility, self-mastery, growth, discipline, creativity, nature, sustainability, spirituality?
Make a list of what you deeply value. Because courage is an internal energy, a driving force, that originates and flows from your heart-felt convictions – which are your deeply held, deeply rooted values.
Explore and come to know your deeply held values.
Contemplate and meditate and journal and affirm and talk about your values every day.
Ground your values and establish a firm foundation for your life.
Align your entire being, your choices, your decisions, your actions with your convictions.
Use your values to fuel courage and neutralise fear and become the change you want to see in your life and for the world.

THE POWER OF FOCUS
Our minds also play an essential role in releasing the grip fear has over us.
We can use our minds to focus and direct energy.
Fear is also an energy.
Fear grows when it is the centre of your attention.
Fear paralyses us.
We panic.
We shut down.
Whereas focusing on the positive acts as a powerful fuel that feeds courage.
Positivity is not about ‘fake-it-til-you-make-it’ fluffy thoughts and feelings.
Positivity is not pretence or ignoring challenges either.
Rather positivity is a deliberate, strategic mindset you use to build and strengthen your mental and emotional fortitude – which is your ability to persevere and endure and triumph over fear and challenges.
Deliberate positivity is a conscious, active decision to seek positive solutions, even in challenging situations.
Positivity moves you past fear, and converts fear into momentum and constructive action.
You focus your attention on what you want to achieve or embody or create or heal.
You also need to become consciously aware that focus is influenced by your self talk.
What you focus on and the way you talk to yourself (your inner voice) can either heal and change your life for the better or undermine it.
If you want to create positive change, embrace positive self talk.
Positive self-talk means using encouraging & affirming language with yourself.
When you feel hopeless redirect your focus and affirm:
Fear is a reaction.
Courage is a choice.
No matter how overwhelmed I might feel,
I will not be defeated by fear.
Courage is my antidote.

PRACTICE DAILY
Ultimately, courage in action is the mental, emotional, and moral strength to face difficulty and challenges and pain, and persevere without being overcome by fear.
And like any skill you master, courage requires practice.
Practice, practice, practice until you embody courage and triumph over fear.
If we want to heal fear and create a better life, we need courage.
And we also need to change the way we see the world.
The world we live in is made up of each and every one of us.
We influence and affect each other energetically more than we realise.
And what we focus on the most is what we will create.
It’s important as a collective that we build courage and stand together in harmony and unity and focus on positive values to guide our choices and actions in these challenging times.
More than ever, we need to live a heart centred life.
Because that’s where courage flows from.
Every time fear arises I neutralise it by focusing on my highest good and choosing.
I choose love.
I choose healing.
I choose courage.
I choose harmony.
I choose kindness.
I choose positivity.
I choose resilience.
I choose mindfulness.
I choose inner peace.
I choose perseverance.
I choose to triumph over fear.
I choose to create positive solutions.
I choose to pray for the highest good for all.
I choose to appreciate and bless everyone and everything.
And I invite you to live a heart-centred life too.
Much love,
Tracey.
