Focused intention and sound are powerful tools for healing – all kinds of healing.

ToggleHEALING
Healing is a process of creating change from one state to another, from sickness or disease or disorders to being healthy and whole.
And no matter what you want to heal in your life, healing is a process of doing things differently than you’ve done before.
If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you’re going to create the same results over and over again until you learn what it takes to be healthy – and you do it.
HEALING HEALTH
When it comes to healing your health, it’s important to change how you understand health, and heal your relationship with your body and yourself.
Health is a constant state of renewal.
Healing is the process that leads to renewal.
Our bodies are always healing us in order to maintain a balance we experience as health.
Cells are born.
Cells die.
And throughout this never ending cycle, your body is performing billions of actions that constantly repair and resupply what has been used up in the process of keeping you alive.
You experience this continuous healing process without being consciously aware of it going on inside you, until something goes wrong and you get sick or diagnosed with a disease or disorder.
It’s often only when we become rundown or sick that we say to ourselves things like:
• I’ve got to eat better.
• I have to exercise.
• I need to slow down.
• I’ve got to go to bed earlier.
• I’m so stressed out. I need to relax more.
• I’m feeling overwhelmed. I need help.
There’s a part of us that knows we need to live differently, but we often ignore what we know deep inside and continue to neglect ourselves.
Many of us only wake up to what we’re doing to ourselves when things go really wrong with our health, rather than realise that prevention is always the best way to stay healthy.
Health is a preventative practice in that what we do every day of our lives becomes what we create.
And your day to day routines matter.
Health as a routine means establishing healthy daily practices that become a way of living life and are supported by self-love, self-motivation, and self-inquiry.
SELF-INQUIRY
Self inquiry is a powerful tool for healing health and your relationship with yourself and your body.
And I use the word ‘in-quiry’ to represent the act of going inwards to investigate and discover your true you.
Self inquiry involves asking yourself questions and being totally honest with your answers.
And the first invaluable question to ask yourself is:
What kind of a relationship would you say you have with yourself?
Your relationship with yourself includes asking:
• Do you nourish your body with healthy food?
• Do you exercise your body?
• Are you kind to yourself?
• Do you stand up for yourself?
• Do you have healthy boundaries with others?
• Do you listen to your inner knowing, your intuition?
• Do you neglect your health and wellbeing?
• Do you find it hard to say no to things you don’t want to do?
• Is the life you’re living exhausting you?
• Is the life you’re living fulfilling you?
• Are you consciously aware of the constant thoughts you think?
• Is your inner talk (thoughts, stories) about yourself positive or negative?
• What do you think about you?
• Do you love what you do?
• Do you accept yourself the way you are?
• Do you put yourself down?
• Do you make time for rest and relaxation?
• Do you make time for self-nurturing: things like massage, bodywork, facials, meditation, yoga, relaxing baths?
• Do you spend time learning life skills – like communication skills, trauma releasing, or how to be healthy?
• Do you make time to have fun?
• What do you love to do that inspires you?
• What do you value – what truly matters to you?
• Are you living in alignment with your values?
• How do you really feel?
• Are you happy?
• Are you healthy?
• Do you love you?
Grab a journal, check in with yourself, and start writing down your answers.
It can be eye-opening to see how badly we treat ourselves.
But the gift of self-discovery is that we can change the way we live, and that your body has an enormous capacity to heal when you give it what it needs to be healthy.

HOLISTIC HEALTH
The next important thing to realise about healing is that health is holistic.
Holistic means that every part of you affects every part of you – your physical, mental, emotional and even spiritual parts of you affect every other part of you.
And the thing about life is what we always do is what we create.
How you think, how you feel, what you do, your connection to creation itself determines what your life is going to be like (your outcomes).
To be healthy means to maintain a constant balance and flow between every part of you.
To heal and maintain balance (health) means that you need to change what doesn’t work for you on all levels of being.
And that requires daily self-reflection, the practice of looking within yourself.
Even just 10 minutes a day spent checking in with yourself can make a big difference to your health.
SELF-REFLECTION
We all need to stop living unconsciously, in endless repetitive cycles of daily grind that exhaust us, and make regular times to be still and reflect.
To reflect means looking at our physical habits like what we eat and our lifestyle, how we think, how we truly feel, and examining our spiritual practices too.
Self-reflection is an essential part of self-inquiry.
Do all the parts of you nurture health and healing and a sense of wellbeing?
Or are you living such a pressured life you’ve created stress and inflammation and chaos?
What parts of you do you neglect?
What parts of you are toxic and poisoning you?
Healing means getting real.
To heal means paying attention to what’s going on within you.
And using what you discover to make positive changes.
To heal means we have to stop being oblivious to our needs, denying or ignoring what we need to be healthy.
We also need to stop pretending that what doesn’t work, works.
We need to live in ways that nurture and nourish health and wellbeing.
And that means letting go of ALL things that undermine health and healing.

WHY LETTING GO IS ESSENTIAL
Your life is a constant rhythm and flow of receiving and releasing, from the most basic physical level of your body, to your mental, emotional, and spiritual parts of yourself.
A simple analogy of your life is eating.
You eat a meal.
You digest and assimilate the nutrients in the food you eat (and liquids you drink), so your body can produce energy to maintain balance and flow (homeostasis, health).
This process is metabolism.
At the end of this metabolic process, you eliminate the waste matter that remains in the form of urine and faeces (your bowel movements).
But if you were to hold on to the waste matter, you would poison your body, cause serious disruption (organ failure) and eventual death without medical intervention.
Metabolic waste products are toxic (poisonous) to your body if they build up and are not released.
The same goes for any emotions or beliefs or stories or trauma you hold onto that result in chronic states of tension and stress and suffering.
Holding onto anything toxic poisons you and your potential to live a healthy, fulfilled, creative life.
Letting go of everything that doesn’t nourish health and nurture your wellbeing is essential for healing whatever is going on for you.
Imagine your hand gripped in a fist, holding on to everything that has ever hurt or harmed or poisoned you.
Grip your fist tightly as you read this.
Then open your hand and see and feel every toxic thing you have held onto float away and dissolve.
That’s what letting go is – releasing your grip on what you don’t want and freeing yourself because you’re no longer holding onto it and keeping it alive.
INTENTION HEALS
Another essential part of letting go is setting positive intentions every day.
Intention is a mental state that guides behaviour (action), that you commit yourself to, and remind yourself of all the time, until your intentions become what you create.
Make your Intentions desired positive outcomes.
You start by imagining the outcomes you desire – a vision you create in your mind – and observe the energising feelings creating a positive vision generates.
You then repeat (affirm) your intentions every day.
By constantly reaffirming positive intentions (desired outcomes), your mental focus (your attention) shifts away from negativity (and what undermines you) onto positive things you want to create for your life.
The more you practice focussing your attention on what you desire to create, what you don’t want fades away because you are no longer keeping it alive (feeding it).
We create what we focus on the most.
If you’re holding on to negative beliefs and stories and memories that’s what you’ll create more of.
If you constantly focus on things you don’t want or don’t like, that’s where you are directing your energy – and you’ll attract more of what you dislike.
Energy is magnetic – you attract what you energise.
If you’re always focussing on fears, you’ll keep generating and attracting fear.
If you keep mentally revisiting past traumas, you’ll keep trauma alive until you heal it, release it, and shift your focus.
Ultimately, we are the co-creators of our lives through whatever we continually focus on.
Focusing your attention on positive intentions can change your life.

BE INTENTIONAL
If you want to heal or change anything in your life, it is by your intention that you will do so.
So how do we keep ourselves in alignment with our intentions?
By continually focusing mentally and emotionally on what you intend to create.
And by letting go of everything that would undermine your desired outcomes, especially emotional pain and trauma.
Heart-mind coherence is essential – meaning that your mind (thoughts) and heart (emotions) are unified and aligned with what you desire to create in your life, and not fighting each other.
You sabotage the best of intentions if what you think versus how you truly feel do not resonate with each other.
Awareness matters
Practice becoming more aware (conscious) of where you let your mind travel, and always guide your thinking back to what you want to create.
Become more aware of your emotions and what you might need to heal and free yourself from, especially unresolved trauma.
Focus matters
What you focus on matters.
Your mind is that powerful.
We keep alive what we focus on.
Every thought you think and the thoughts you then speak shapes what you create.
Remember that what we feed our minds affects our state of being (health) and outcomes in life.
Choose wisely what you watch or read or listen to – because that’s what feeds your mind.
Self talk matters
Our self talk also has a big impact on how we feel and guides our behaviours (what we do).
Negative self-talk depresses energy and results in stress, anxiety, inflammation, and hopelessness.
Positive self-talk energises us, lifts, motivates, and inspires us.
Be intentional
Rather than rushing blindly through your life, be intentional.
Stop, reflect, choose, and act with awareness and deliberate (on purpose) intention.
Take charge, and constantly reaffirm your intentions through the thoughts you choose to focus on, what you choose to imagine and feel, and your self talk.

AFFIRMING HEALING
You keep intentions alive through repetition.
The more you affirm and repeat your positive intentions, the stronger they become, and the healthier you become on all levels.
Affirming means stating something is true or correct – it already exists.
And there are many ways you can constantly affirm your intention to heal your body and your life.
I like to use sound healing frequencies combined with affirmations to harmonise the energy flow in my body in alignment with my intentions.
Often I will work at my desk or cook or clean or water the garden with headphones on playing healing frequencies and subliminal affirmations quietly in the background of my activities.
For example, on YouTube, you can find free to view videos that combine affirmations with sound therapy.
One such YouTube channel is The Sound Healers.
The following affirmations are from an energy healing session The Sound Healers created to help release fear, worry, anxiety, and toxic memories.
The video title is I release all distorted emotions trapped in my tissues (subliminal).
Click on the link and try it even once to feel the difference sound healing creates in your body.
I’d love your feedback too.
Let me know in the comments how you go because there’s so much I can share with you if you’re interested in further exploring sound healing therapies.
The affirmations in this audio are subliminal – playing in the background of gentle music and sounds of rain.
I find subliminal affirmation audios an effective way to work and nurture my health at the same time.
First, I read the affirmations aloud to set my intentions, and then I get on with whatever I’m doing while I’m listening to the audio.
It’s multi-tasking at its best.
You can also listen to sound healing videos to aid relaxation before sleep.
Make sure you use head phones and sit or lie in a comfortable position with your eyes closed.
Take deep, even, gentle breaths.
And as you exhale, consciously relax any tightness you can feel in your body.

SOUND AS THERAPY
I listen to sound healing audios every day.
I find it a powerful way to keep calm and focused when I’m writing, and a perfect companion to help me tackle chores I might otherwise procrastinate doing.
Sound is frequency (vibration) in motion (movement).
And every single cell and system in our body’s have a natural frequency of vibration.
There are certain sound frequencies that resonate with our body’s own natural frequencies.
They have a healing effect on your body, mind and emotions, helping you reduce stress and restore balance.
Your brain and nervous systems and cells react and respond to sound and vibration, synchronising with the external sounds you hear.
Specific, repetitive sounds (frequencies) can help your brain and body shift from a hyperactive active beta state to a relaxed alpha and theta state associated with rest and healing.
Sound therapy is like having a soothing massage that helps release tension, lower stress hormones, heart rate, and blood pressure, regulate your nervous systems, and restore energy flow.
SOUND HEALING
Music has been used since the beginning of time to influence certain responses.
From tranquil orchestral music, to ancient tribal drums, to rock and roll, or primal base techno beats – we physically, mentally, and emotionally respond and resonate with the music we listen to.
What we are really hearing when we listen to music is different arrangements of frequencies.
Frequency is defined as a measure of vibration.
Vibration means back-and-forth movement, such as a guitar string vibrating and creating a certain sound (note).
Frequency is the number of times per second that the backward and forward movement repeatedly occurs, which is measured as hertz (Hz)
Sound healing uses a variety of specific hertz frequencies (recurring vibrations, Hz) to activate therapeutic effects, including:
174 Hz Pain relief, loosens muscles, reduces tension and stress, calming, grounding, promotes a sense of safety.
285 Hz Renews energy fields, tissue healing and cellular regeneration, improves pain, mood, and insomnia, stimulates the immune system.
396 Hz Helps release fear, worry, guilt, grief, trauma and negative thought patterns, calms chronic pain and anxiety.
417 Hz Clears negativity and emotional blockages, aids positive change and emotional healing.
432 Hz Calms heart rate, promotes deep relaxation, improves emotional regulation and sleep quality, boosts mood.
528 Hz Strong stress-reducing effect, reduces cortisol, increases oxytocin, facilitates creativity and concentration, supports cellular repair.
639 Hz Increases empathy and emotional balance, relieves stress.
741 Hz Known as the detoxifying frequency, purifies mind and body, aids problem solving and self-expression.
852 Hz Enhances mental clarity, raises cell vibration, aids intuition and the sleep-wake cycle.
963 Hz Pineal gland activator associated with a higher state of consciousness and spiritual connection.
There are different types of sound healing therapies you can explore too, including:
• Solfeggio music.
• Binaural beat therapy.
• Brainwave entrainment.
• Music therapy.
• Sound baths.
• Gong baths.
• Tibetan singing bowls.
• Crystal bowls.
• Tuning fork therapy.
• Frequency therapy.
• Rife therapy.
• Guided meditations.
• Subliminal music.
You can immerse yourself in discovering healing sounds and frequency therapies, until you find what you resonate with the most.

HEALING YOU
As a journey, healing is freeing yourself from suffering – that’s where you arrive.
As a process, healing is the culmination of actions that renew and restore wholeness (coherence) and flow between the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of you.
Sound healing and living intentionally are holistic healing methods you can use every day to help restore balance and harmony and create positive change.
You don’t need expensive equipment to access the benefits of sound therapy. You just need a set of headphones.
And living intentionally means living every day with awareness and focus and practice (doing).
But most of all, healing you is an act of self-love that breaks cycles that undermine your innate capacity to thrive and overcome and grow and create a life you love to live.
Self-love is more than healing self-worth or beautifying your body.
Self-love is a daily conscious commitment to nurturing your health and wellbeing.
Self love is a way of living love – discovering yourself and meeting your needs with compassion and acceptance and kindness and mindfulness and peace that you extend to others too.
Self-love is a journey that heals and returns you home to your true essential self – that by your actions you free yourself to be.
Self-love is letting go of anything that undermines your health and wellbeing.
Self-love is creating a sanctuary within yourself that nothing outside of you can diminish.
Every day, is an opportunity to start your day with intention and self-love.
Don’t just jump out of bed and blindly race through your life.
Check in with yourself first.
What do you want to create today?
How do you want your day to be?
Imagine it.
Feel it as if it already is.
And then focus on your intentions – over and over and over again until you become what you seek.
Your health is precious, without it you cannot thrive.
Life is precious, don’t miss how full of love and wonder it can be.
Much love,
Tracey.

WOW Tracey. What a powerful, informative blog on health to start the year!!!!
Love the list of questions to help everyone with self-analysis. To identify where there might be areas for attention.
You have given so many examples on affirmations and sound healing as well.
The path to self-healing can often seem daunting. Where to begin? What to do? Your blog is like a road map, giving a variety of directions to help get to that goal.
Thank you Tracey.
Thank you so much Ellie for your feedback because that’s what I was trying to do – provide a map to start an inner journey because how do you know what to do if you don’t know how to start that journey. Much love, Tracey.
